The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) and the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA), in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), will be launching the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) on Monday, 7 December 2020.
The official project launch will take place at a virtual ceremony, on GotoWebinar at 09:30 by Deputy Director General of the dtic, Sipho Zikode and the Ambassador of Switzerland, H.E. Dr Nicolas Brühl.
South Africa was chosen to host the programme as the concept of eco-industrial parks strongly supports the Industrial Park Revitalisation Programme (IPRP) of the dtic. The NCPC-SA will be the national implementer of the three-year programme, following a successful pilot project in 2018-19.
The NCPC-SA and SABS is hosting the final webinar on its ‘virtual’ roadshow on the significant benefits of working towards SANS/ISO 50001 certification, and how the NCPC-SA can assist your company to implement an energy management system, followed by a brief look at the requirements for, and process of certification.
The National Foundry Technology Network (NFTN)concluded a foundry study to update the number of foundries in the country and the level of compliance with AEL. The webinar will share the outcome of the study and way forward.
