Tools for Accelerating the Uptake of Renewable Energy and Water Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector

We are pleased to invite you to this hybrid training workshop taking place in Pretoria (Venue TBA), designed to provide participants with valuable insights through expert presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions.

This event is part of the project titled “Strengthening the Adaptation Capacity of Industry for a Green and Resilient Economy in South Africa,” a collaborative initiative between the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA).

The workshop aims to enhance the climate resilience of the agriculture sector by focusing on practical tools and strategies for renewable energy and water efficiency.

Workshop Theme: Enhancing Climate Resilience – The workshop will showcase tools that are being developed to strengthen climate resilience in the agriculture sector, covering key topics such as renewable energy, water efficiency, and climate adaptation strategies. Participants can expect to hear the following:

• Presentations from leading experts on climate-resilient services and solutions for agriculture
• In-depth case studies showcasing successful implementations of renewable energy and water efficiency tools
• Interactive Q&A sessions to foster learning and discussion
• Knowledge of how various tools can be leveraged to support South Africa’s agricultural sector in its journey towards sustainability

Target Audience: This workshop is designed for staff from South African universities and research institutions, as well as individuals and organizations involved in agriculture, climate resilience, and sustainability. The programme aims to deliver the following:

• Presentations (20 minutes each) followed by Q&A (10 minutes)
• Case studies from across the country
• Interactive discussions on practical tools for climate resilience
