The SAEEConfed’s vision is to be the recognised link in energy efficiency for sustainable growth and prosperity through focused initiatives aimed towards the growth and development of people, businesses and southern Africa, as well as the creation of communities that promote knowledge-sharing and networking and recognise efforts that would sustainably lead the industry forward.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful to have been chosen by the SAEEConfed as the young energy professional for 2022. This award is testimony to the significance of the role the CSIR Energy Research Centre plays in the future of energy research in South Africa and it restores hope in the new “talent” entering the energy space,” expressed Talent Duma.

The Young Energy Professional winner demonstrates outstanding contributions within the energy industry and community in any or all these areas: educational and collegiate achievements; professional and technical society activities; civic and humanitarian activities; continuing competence; energy management achievements; climate change activities and achievements; and renewable energy activities and achievements.

“I wish to also acknowledge my supervisors Dr B. Seteni, Dr O. Dzobo and Dr P. Mukoma for their ongoing support and guidance as I work on energy projects that not only shape my career, but contribute towards helping the society at large,” Talent said.
