6 November 2025 – Invitation to Gauteng Industrial Symbiosis Programme Ten-Year Celebration
The National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA), in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Environment (GDEnv) invites waste beneficiation practitioners, manufacturing sector stakeholders, and government representatives to celebrate a significant milestone; ten years of the Gauteng Industrial Symbiosis Programme (GISP).
Under the theme “A Decade of Industrial Sustainability: Unlocking Growth Opportunities for SMMEs through Industrial Symbiosis,” the celebration will provide an opportunity to reflect on the journey of collaboration and explore the future of sustainable industrial development in the province. The programme will highlight the impact of the GISP over the past ten years and feature inspiring case studies.
What is Industrial Symbiosis?
Industrial Symbiosis (IS) is a resource-efficient approach where unused or residual resources, such as materials, energy, water, waste, assets, and logistics, from one company are repurposed by another, fostering sustainability and economic growth.
