The NCPC and its project partners, UNIDO and adelphi, hosted a launch event of the “Climate and Biodiversity Action through Circular Economy Solutions (CB-ACES)” project in South Africa, on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 at the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel in Menlyn, Pretoria.
CB-ACES is a five-year project financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Government. It aims to reduce negative impacts on climate change and biodiversity by supporting the transformation of selected sectors and value chains towards a socially just circular economy in Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa.
The project will work closely with government institutions, the private sector, financial institutions, and civil society to advance enabling policy frameworks, strengthen institutional and technical capacities, promote circular business models, and facilitate access to finance for circular economy approaches. By fostering dialogue and collaboration across sectors and governance levels, CB-ACES seeks to support coherent and impactful action on climate mitigation and biodiversity protection.
The full-day project launch event provided an opportunity for government representatives and stakeholders to learn more about the project’s objectives and planned activities, explore paths for cooperation, and exchange perspectives on advancing circular economy solutions at national and international levels.
