Thursday 17 March 2022 I-GO Africa Assistant Launch and Training

The National Cleaner Production Centre, South Africa (NCPC-SA)  together with the Green Industry Platform and GO4SDGs are pleased to invite you to the online I-GO Assistant launch and training workshop for African countries. Simultaneous French and English interpretation will be provided.

The I-GO initiative has been developed by the Green Industry Platform to help upscale resource efficiency in SMEs. I-GO provides a support structure that aligns the most relevant existing resource efficiency knowledge, training, and financing solutions with the everyday operational needs of individual SMEs. At the core of the I-GO support structure is the I-GO Assistant, a rapid online SME resource efficiency self-assessment and navigation tool that provides SMEs with clear recommendations on how to cost effectively improve their operations and, most importantly, directs them to the specific support services that can help them implement the recommendations.

The Green Industry Platform and the Global Opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (GO4SDGs) have been supporting the NCPC-SA to pilot the I-GO Initiative in Africa since August 2021. NCPC-SA has been building a network of local and international SME supporting organizations, developing a database of locally accessible resource efficiency knowledge and support services, and adapting the self-assessment tool for use by SMEs in Africa.

This workshop training is aimed at organisations that play a vital role in supporting SMEs on improving sustainability and/or competitiveness, such as business associations, national cleaner production centres, government agencies, national and international development organisations and financial institutions so that they can more effectively support SMEs.
