The National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) and the National Foundry Technology Network (NFTN) participated in the Manufacturing Indaba hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre, 21 to 22 June 2022.

The prestigious two-day manufacturing event attended by government agencies, large corporates, SMMEs and manufacturers was an opportunity for the NCPC-SA and the NFTN to showcase the work that has been done since the last in-person Indaba before the Covid-19 pandemic. Each programme had an exhibition stand where delegates could engage and ask questions. In addition to the exhibition, the NCPC-SA participated as a knowledge hub partner where delegates could attend free technical presentations.

On day 1, Ngoanathari Maja, NCPC-SA’s Project manager presented Strategies and Tools for Balancing Economic Recovery and Climate Goals and on day 2, Maggie Mashau presented how Industrial Symbiosis contributes to a circular economy. Both presentations sparked an interest for organisations and individuals to either work with the NCPC-SA or attend capacitation workshops.

This year’s event also highlighted NCPC-SA’s leaders as subject matter experts in resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP) as Ndivhuho Raphulu, Impact Area Manager and Julie Wells, Business Support Manager were invited to speak at the conference that ran parallel with the exhibition.
