To combat the pressing issue of waste management and foster sustainable practices, the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) together with various government departments are set to host a series of nationwide workshops as part of their waste minimisation programme, Industrial Symbiosis (IS) during the month of September and October 2023.

These workshops aim to build a network of businesses with links or synergies between companies that HAVE under- or unutilised resources with other member companies who WANT and can use them to create new business opportunities.

The IS programme provides a free facilitation service which seeks out matches between companies that HAVE under- or unutilised resources with other member companies who WANT and can use them to create new business opportunities.

The programme is a Local Economic Development and service delivery tool as it contributes toward improved municipal service delivery by lowering costs for waste and effluent management and creating SME enterprise opportunities.

Participants can look forward to witness real-world examples of individuals and businesses successfully implementing waste minimisation strategies.
