The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) invites enterprises, project developers and providers of technologies and services in the agro-processing sector to apply for technical assistance and possible funding support for the implementation of new or upgrading of existing renewable energy, energy efficiency or water management interventions. This forms part of a project aimed at strengthening the climate resilience of South African industry, with a focus on water-energy nexus projects in the agro-processing industry.

The Industry Climate Change Adaptation Project will address the barriers that are currently hampering an accelerated adoption of measures and technologies on climate adaptation. It aims to assist industries in developing desirable pathways and increasingly sustainable practices for the transition to more climate-resilient operations, resulting in a reduced environmental footprint and the creation of more green jobs in industry.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) and the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) as the key partners. It is funded by the Government of Flanders.

All criteria are outlined in the Call for Proposals, which can be accessed on the UNIDO Procurement Portal – https://www.unido.org/resources-procurement/procurement-opportunities (select “Call for Proposals – Strengthened adaptation capacity for a green and resilient economy in South Africa”).

After downloading the call for proposals, kindly advise UNIDO if you intend to submit a proposal under this CfP.
