National Programme Manager, NCPC 

Victor Manavhela joined the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) as the Regional Manager in 2013. Before joining the NCPC-SA, he served as Deputy Director: Environmental Planning and Impact Assessment at the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. 

Currently he is the NCPC-SA National Programme Manager and leads the Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency and Industrial Symbiosis Programmes in his portfolio.

Victor holds a master’s degree in environmental management from the University of Free State, the thesis was on Industrial Symbiosis Implementation in RSA. He also serves on various advisory boards and committees including, the Premier Advisory Committee on Climate Change.

Andre Page

Project Manager, NCPC

Andre has been a Project Manager at the NCPC-SA for more than 18 years, focusing primarily on the Clothing, Textiles, Footwear and Leather sector. He has extensive experience in assisting companies to adopt resource efficient and cleaner production, lifecycle management and other sustainability interventions.

Prior to joining the NCPC, Andre worked in the clothing and textile sector for almost 20 years. His previous role as Raw Material Quality Manager required extensive knowledge of development of procedures, supplier development, customer relations, planning and production.

Brave Leballo

Tailor-Made Risk Solutions

Mr Brave Leballo, a registered natural scientist with SACNASP, is a founder and Executive Director of Tailor-Made Risk Solutions. Tailor-Made is a BBBEE Level 1 professional consulting firm Focusing on Risk, Environmental and Waste Management. Mr Leballo has a Masters Degree in Environmental Science and a Management Advanced Programme (MAP) from Wits Business School. He has held various management positions including Senior and Executive roles in RIsk, Environmental and Waste Management disciplines within big corporates in both the public and private sectors. Brave has extensive wealth of practical experience extending well over 20 years.

Phathutshedzo Mudau

Phathutshedzo Mudau, born in Tshikuwi village in Limpopo , emerged as a notable figure in the realm of environmental innovation and entrepreneurship. Growing up in Tshikuwi, his educational journey commenced at Tshikuwi Primary School in 1999, followed by George Mbulaheni High School from 2006 to 2011. While his path encountered obstacles when he failed Grade 11 in 2009, Phathutshedzo remained resolute in his aspirations

During his formative years, a profound interest in business took root within Phathutshedzo, largely influenced by his stint at his uncle's shop between 2012 and 2015. This experience ignited his entrepreneurial spirit, propelling him to venture into various business endeavors. In 2016, fueled by determination, he embarked on his own ventures, establishing enterprises in the food industry, including chips, kwanda, eggs, atchar, pork, and pap.

It was in 2019 that Phathutshedzo discovered his true calling in the realm of environmental sustainability and waste management. Driven by a deep desire to effect positive change, he embarked on an innovative journey to tackle the pressing issue of waste management. Presently, his focus revolves around pioneering solutions to reduce waste, promote recycling, and foster sustainable practices within his community.

Phathutshedzo’s unwavering dedication and commitment to environmental conservation garnered recognition and accolades. He was honored with the prestigious Indalo Inclusive award, recognized as one of 26 youth climate champions in South Africa. This acknowledgment further kindled his drive to make a tangible difference.

Phathutshedzo’s visionary approach and dedication to environmental causes were acknowledged by the Mail and Guardian publication. Under the category of Environment, he was named one of the 200 young South African visionaries. This esteemed recognition validated his innovative approaches and steadfast commitment to forging a greener and more sustainable future.

Fuelled by his passion, Phathutshedzo continues to make remarkable strides in the field of waste management and environmental innovation. His unwavering focus lies in developing sustainable solutions to address the urgent environmental challenges faced not only by his community but also on a broader scale. Through his entrepreneurial spirit, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to preserving the environment, he serves as an inspirational role model, poised to leave a lasting impact on the world.
